How To: Play a judgmental bitch/jerk
We’ve all had that one character who was just mean to everyone. Now, it’s your turn to be that character. But how, you ask? Lets find out.
Obviously, these people judge. “Now, I’m a nice person, and I never judge,” is what you’re probably thinking. Well, you probably do without even realizing it. If someone wore crocs to school, what would you think of them? Exactly.
Make sure to try to find as many flaws in the other character as possible. Maybe there’s something in their personality that your character hates. Judge them based on that. Maybe they wore something to school that day that you didn’t agree with. Judge them on it. Maybe they can’t play baseball as good as your character thinks they can, and they can certainly use that as an excuse to judge the other.
You can roleplay this out using anything, really. Normally these characters are also backstabbers. So, for example, a judgmental person (Person A), would go up to Person B to tell them their opinions on Person C. You can use this in paras, gif chats, or even texts. If they’re outspoken, chances are that they will probably just tell the person. Nevertheless, your character will find a flaw in every single person.
If you’re judgmental you’ll probably be using sarcasm as well. If you hate someone’s shoes, you’ll tell them something along the lines of “Wow, your shoes look great, did you get them in the 99 cents store or what?” snicker, and walk away laughing. Use it to your advantage, but don’t use it too often, as it gets boring and looses its purpose after a while.
A jerk or bitch rolls their eyes more often then not. When talking to people, they might have their arms crossed and might be leaning on one leg. They also tend to scowl, so you might want to include something of the sort in paras.
Your character is mean as hell. Don’t forget that. As nice as you might be, pretend like you were in the last fight you were in and you had a strong opinion, or you really wanted to go somewhere and your parents wouldn’t let you. Target those pent up feelings and use them to play your very own little jerk. Mean characters are so much fun to play, seeing that you can release your anger on fictional characters and not harm a soul, or get in trouble with parents!
Release your inner bitch. Sarcasm and pointing out flaws are your friends, and rumors are the things you love to spread. Seeing someone cry is a small victory, and you will never apologize. I can’t stress never apologizing enough.
If your character is going to be extremely mean to another, meaning that they’ll tell them possibly triggering, harsh things, be the nice person you are out of character and warn the player ahead of time. As much as people warn others not to take anything in character personally, some people still do. You don’t want to be in a bad situation. Now, if you’re just being a normal mean, you don’t have to say anything. If your character is telling the other that they’re so terrible they can just.. well, fall off the planet (written in other terms, of course), then warn ahead of time.
